Specified Skilled Workers
Specified Skill Worker (i) covers various fields such as care work, building cleaning, manufacturing of raw materials, industrial machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, construction, shipbuilding, automobile maintenance, aviation, hospitality, agriculture, fishing, food and beverage manufacturing, and the restaurant industry.
Filipino-Specified Skilled Workers aiming to work in Japan under the "Specified Skill (i)" residence status must pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT-N4 or higher) or the Japan Foundation Japanese Basic Test (JFT-Basic), as well as the specified skill evaluation test in their chosen field.
In the case of Specified Skill Workers, after the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) certified sending organizations and receiving companies sign a Recruitment Agreement (RA) and receive approval from the POEA and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), they can proceed with entry procedures and directly engage in employment.
Notably, in the Philippines, specified skill workers are required to hold a national qualification called NCⅡ, and this mandatory requirement, along with specialized education and certified qualifications in their chosen field, sets them apart from workers in other countries.
